Costs
In Canada, total costs can range from $80,000 to $130,000
Surrogacy is an expensive process and intended parents need to be financially prepared before beginning their journey. Typically, the surrogacy process starts by creating embryos for preservation. After this step, many intended parents allocate time to gather any additional funds necessary for the rest of the process — in Canada, total costs can range from $80,000 to $130,000 CAD.
Totals vary due to several factors, including the specific fertility clinic’s location, the geographic whereabouts of the surrogate and intended parents, the number of cycles or procedures required, legal fees, agency costs, as well as the expenses covered for the surrogate.

Contracts
All Together Surrogacy consulting Follows the Assisted Human Reproduction Guidelines
Once your surrogate has been cleared, you enter into a surrogacy agreement with your surrogate. This is a legally binding contract that will be created by a fertility lawyer.
The IP(s) lawyer is called the “drafting lawyer” and the gestational carriers lawyer is called the “reviewing lawyer”. The agreement will cover issues such as reimbursements, your legal obligations, your conduct, relinquishment of the child, bed rest, etc. Once you have had an opportunity to review the agreement, you will be asked to have a meeting with your lawyer (this is normally done by telephone or video call due to the location of the lawyers that we work with) to discuss any changes.
Your partner (if applicable) will also be required to review the agreement with you and your lawyer. The reviewing lawyer will relay any amendments to the drafting lawyer. Once all the terms are agreed upon by you, your partner (if applicable), and the IP(s), you will all be required to sign the agreement.
Once you have legal clearance, your surrogacy journey can begin in full swing! A letter will be sent to the fertility clining by the drafting lawyer to notify them that you and your surrogate have receieve legal clearance and the cycle can begin
