Can I Become A Surrogate?
To become a surrogate, most clinics require you meet the following criteria:
- A clean criminal record check
- No drug and alcohol abuse for at least 3 years (This does not include occasional use of legal substances)
- Body Mass Index (BMI) of 35 or lower
- Less than 4 cesarean births, as well depending on circumstances they could chose not to go forward on a case by case basis
- Clean bill of physical and mental health, with regards to how that can affect your surrogacy
- Be a non smoker or be prepared to quit for the duration of screening and pregnancy
- You have had at least one biological child
Legal Requirements
- Must be between 21 and 45 years old
- Must be a Canadian citizen
Additional Requirements
- We require you to submit your medical certificates and a detailed report detailing any complications, infectious or genetic disorders in order to move forward
- We require a criminal record check to insure that you have not had any issues with the law
- Overview and refinement of self-care routines
