Can I Become A Surrogate?

To become a surrogate, most clinics require you meet the following criteria:

A clean criminal record check
No drug and alcohol abuse for at least 3 years (This does not include occasional use of legal substances)
Body Mass Index (BMI) of 35 or lower
Less than 4 cesarean births, as well depending on circumstances they could chose not to go forward on a case by case basis
Clean bill of physical and mental health, with regards to how that can affect your surrogacy
Be a non smoker or be prepared to quit for the duration of screening and pregnancy
You have had at least one biological child

* Clinics generally do not accept women for surrogacy if they have not had a prior pregnancy/birth. Understanding your fertility history will help minimize the chance of serious complications
